Hanna Petersen

Communications + Operations Manager

Hanna Petersen is a strategic thinker and problem solver with a passion for interpersonal connection, community outreach, and inclusion. During her childhood, Hanna moved frequently, living in 13 states across the U.S. due to her father’s work in the film industry. This transitory experience from a young age allowed her to become highly adaptable in utilizing youth programs and interest groups to quickly build a sense of community and grounding, built on deep connection and common interests.

Hanna first began working in administration as a freelance Production Office Manager in Los Angeles. After several years in the industry Hanna moved to DC to begin an exciting new role as a Preschool Operations Manager at the DCJCC where she was able to combine her love of community building with her passion for organization, administration, and system development. Hanna recently graduated from Trinity Washington University with a degree in Human Relations. This educational journey strengthened her understanding of the intersection between community, culture, and mental health. She is grateful to be implementing her educational experience into her work at the Den.

Hanna lives in DC. In her free time, Hanna participates in progressing social justice through activism and volunteer work with a variety of organizations. She loves hiking with her dog, Macaroni, spending time with family, and being an overly involved auntie to her niece and nephew!
