🌸 Women’s Learning Circle Interest List: 2026–2027 Cohort 🌸

Connect. Learn. Belong.
The Women’s Learning Circle at the Den is a sacred space to grow and gather with others who identify as women — a circle of shared stories, curiosity, and connection. Together, we explore meaningful Jewish texts, traditions, and ideas that guide and support us on our life’s path and deepen our sense of who we are.

Rooted in community and guided by the questions and interests of the group, each cohort becomes a journey of learning, reflection, and belonging. We’ll weave Jewish wisdom with our own diverse experiences of womanhood and Jewish identity — discovering insight, laughter, and resonance along the way.

Led by Rabbi Aderet Drucker, we’ll cover what Jewish wisdom has to say about topics such as:

  • joy, self-compassion, and love

  • sacred relationships

  • spirituality and ritual,

  • sacred time (the rhythms of Shabbat and Rosh Chodesh/new month)

and inclusive space to offer reflection, ritual practice, and conversation to bring these ideas into daily life.

What to Expect:

  • 5 monthly gatherings (November–March), including a unique Shabbat dinner experience

  • Small cohort size to foster deep connection and trust

  • Opportunities to connect as a cohort outside of sessions for deeper community building

Next Cohort: Begins Fall 2026!

  • If you’re interested and want to learn more about the 2026–2027 Women’s Learning Circle Cohort, please add your name to the form below. We’ll reach out in Fall 2026 to share full details and find the best day of the week for everyone to meet.

  • This cohort is intended to build meaningful relationships among group members. Space is limited to foster an intimate and connected cohort dynamic. Sign up is on a first come, first served basis.

  • Participants who are confirmed for the cohort will be asked to please contribute $180/person in order to help make this and other Den learning experiences possible. If this amount is cost prohibitive, please reach out to us, as cost is not a barrier for entry.

Thank you. We look forward to gathering with you.

Navigating Pregnancy Loss and Infertility Through Jewish Wisdom

Navigating Pregnancy Loss and Infertility Through Jewish Wisdom

Join Rabbi Aderet, At The Well Founder and CEO Sarah Waxman, and Jewish Fertility Foundation Greater DC Program Manager Shannon Rubin for a gentle evening of listening and tender presence. In this gathering, we will hold community around the pain, hope, and resilience that comes with fertility challenges and pregnancy loss.

Pregnancy loss and infertility are among the most tender, complex experiences many people face, yet they are often carried in silence. Judaism, however, does not turn away from this pain. Our tradition lifts up the stories of Hannah and Sarah, honoring their longing, heartbreak, and resilience, and reminding us that  yearning, grief, hope, and healing are all part of a deeply human spiritual journey.

Join us for an evening of compassionate community, gentle ritual, and Jewish wisdom as we create a brave, sacred space for anyone navigating these experiences, whether personally, in partnership, or in support of loved ones.

Together, we will ground ourselves, learn from sacred stories, reflect in small groups, and explore Jewish healing practices, including the mikvah, a ritual bath for reflection and renewal, as tools for emotional, spiritual, and communal support.

🌙 What to Expect

✨ During this Gathering, You Will Experience:

🌿 A Warm Welcome & Framing

📖 Grounding in Jewish Text + Teaching

🤝 Small Group Reflection

💧 An Introduction to the Mikvah as Healing Practice

🌱 Connection + Resource Sharing

Leave feeling held in deep care, tenderness, and belonging.

* Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the mikvah as a healing practice and may view a mikvah, but will not immerse during the evening.

🕯️ Who This Gathering Is For:

This evening is designed for anyone who has experienced pregnancy loss, infertility, or related challenges; those currently navigating these questions; and individuals supporting loved ones on this path. We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, and levels of Jewish knowledge.

This gathering is in partnership with the Den Collective, the Edlavitch DCJCC Parenting Center, the Jewish Fertility Foundation, and At The Well

Brunch & Big Questions: What Is Kosher—And Why? Exploring Practice and Meaning

Join the Den and Rabbi Emmanuel for a relaxed and meaningful Sunday morning for brunch and learning with lots of opportunities for meaningful conversations and connections with fellow community members.

We’ll spread out on blankets, share bagels, coffee, and treats while we dive into questions about keeping kosher. Together we'll explore both the “what”—what’s traditionally in, what’s traditionally out—and the “why”: what deeper meanings and motivations shape the diverse ways people keep kosher today? As we gather on the eve of Shavuot—the holiday that celebrates receiving the Torah—we’ll study one of the Torah’s most enduring and multifaceted practices through a range of perspectives and values.

All are welcome—whether you keep kosher, don’t, are skeptical, enthusiastic, curious, or questioning—or all of the above! No prior experience necessary. We will gather at a location in Arlington, VA that is Metro accessible. Exact meet up location will be shared with registrants.

Learning + Art-Making: Blessing the Ordinary w/the Extraordinary

Judaism offers a wide range of blessings to honor everyday moments in addition to times for daily and holiday prayers—traditionally covering everything from travel and using the bathroom to surviving life-threatening experiences. Contemporary Jewish poets and writers have also crafted liturgies for seemingly mundane occasions, such as going to a party or even watching TV.

Join Rabbi Emmanuel to explore the traditions and practices of "everyday" blessings, followed by art inspired by our learning: creative writing, poetry, interpretive translation, drawing, sketching, and more. This session is designed with first-time poets or painters in mind—nobody will be put on the spot!

Hike + Learn: A Passover Warm-Up in Nature

Jewish mystics sought out nature as a way to experience a more profound sense of intention and attention to their lives. In this spirit, we’ll prepare for Passover—known in the Torah as Chag Ha-Aviv (“spring holiday”)—by immersing ourselves in the blooming natural beauty of our region. Join Rabbi Emmanuel for a hike in the great outdoors, where we’ll break for learning over snacks.

All are welcome! This will be a gentle hike suitable for various experience levels. No prior experience necessary. We’ll gather in Rock Creek Park, with the exact meet up location to be shared with those who sign up.
